Terran Bayer is an award-winning commercial pet photographer and self-proclaimed Crazy Dog Mom. As the creative mind behind Westway Studio, she works with private families and commercial brands to tell the stories of the bonds people share with their animal companions through colorful, emotional, and sparkle-light-filled lifestyle photography. Her work can be seen in international marketing, advertising, and promotional campaigns for brands with household names.

Helping others learn the art and business of pet photography is a passion of Terran’s. She has co-hosted luxury pet photography workshops, mentors pet photographers from around the world, and has spoken at pet-centric events. She also co-founded Professional Pooch, a business focused on creating educational videos for pet photographers.

Dreaming big has never been a problem for Terran but some big dreams are stickier than others. One such dream was to travel the country, live a more compact life off-grid, and spend plenty of time in the mountains with the trees — but with high-speed internet and Thai takeout, of course! In 2022, Terran, her husband, and their senior pup decided life’s too short just to dream and made the leap to take Westway on the road. They traveled over 14,000 miles in six months on their first big journey and now plan to spend half of every year traveling in their Airstream, photographing dogs all along the way! With solar power, they can spend ample time off-grid and thanks to satellite internet, still be connected to the world even when they’re high atop a mountain in the middle of nowhere. Don’t worry; some Thai takeout can typically be found in the fridge, too.
